If you have a client who cannot afford to pay his recommended bail, you can file a Motion at the court who has jurisdiction of his case and ask for a reduction of bail. In some instances, bail may be reduced up to 50% of the original amount, depending on the circumstances.
In a hearing for bail, it is necessary that the public prosecutor be notified and present during the same hearing because as the representative of the Republic of the Philippines, he has the right to object to the reduction of the bail.
